Start monitoring your diet. Choose healthier foods such as veggies, lean meats, skim milk and milk products. Taking Omega 3 fatty acids will certainly help as well.
Cut back on fried foods, for certain!
Good luck! :)

There are several foods that will help get it down but you have to be willing to give up some foods for awhile and use some you might not really appreciate~ chick peas lower cholesterol, (hummus is good) avocados in small amounts per serving, like 1/8 of one to a salad, vegetables don't elevate cholesterol, and cutting back on meats especially high fat beef, all high animal fat causes cholesterol to elevate and no doubt your body produces a high level...olive oil is the best~white chicken meat and turkey
one other thing that really helps is grapefruit
are good in moderation, beans and rice are good fiber low fat foods and give enough protein etc: watch out for ice cream (bad) and milk products and cheese , eat lots of raw vegetables and fruit and lots of water...
follow this and you'll find in no time your cholesterol will drop

HDL is the more important one
I did the whole grain cereals and breads
My HDL went from 34 to 73 (anything over 45 is good)
Chlorides, the worst offenders are salad dressing, I had one type that the whole RDA in 2 tbsp
