Well i'm afraid i agree with your mum. You're only 12, that's too young to have your hair dyed and i'm surprised 'all' your frinds have had theirs done! There's nothing wrong with being ginger, be different and stay as you are! And you say that you are a 'bit popular' so what's the problem?

I'm sorry I agree with her. highlights are expensive and look terrible if you don't get them done as soon as roots start to appear. Auburn hair is really beautiful and is probably more shiny than dyed blonde anyway. I wasn't allowed to highlight my hair unitl I could afford it myself and even when I was working part time my mum would only let me put in a wash oout colour

well i doubt anything people say on here will change ur moms mind. i waited until i was 15 to get blonde highlights. at 12 years old i wasnt even concerned with the way i looked. stop trying to grow up so fast and act like a kid. go outside and play.

Personaly, i dont think its wrong. i'm 13 years old, and I have Brown hair. So i put light blonde highlights in. Try asking your mom if you can just go to wall mart and buy the bottle stuff. I think if you do get highlights it should be a carmel color or something along those lines!!........... :)

hi im 16 and been highlighting/dying my hiar since i was younger and it seems fine!! but my sister is ginger and dyes hers dark brown,,,,the chamicals in the dye reacted and its gone jet black and wont bleach, strip back or dye anyother colour so now she has bad ginger roots and its ruined her hair condition!!
if your that desperate you could use a sun in dye or a henna or a herbal one to prove to ure mum u wont damage your hair
try not to go for such a radical change at firs...u never no ypou mum might get used to a light chang eso you can change it more!
remember ginger is beautiful colour and people pay hundreds to get there hair thta col,our...my mum did!!
good luck xx

lol she is wrong really, but i think shes trying to protect u from the dying the hair thing for as long as possible because once u start it, its not easy to stop, as u have to keep up with ur roots and making its not damaging ur hair. i can understand ur mom but i know highskool isnt easy, especially when people see u as different. why dont u get "human hair" clip in hair extentions, them only around £10 and they wont damage ur hair and easy to remove, that way u get ur higlights and ur mom will be happy ur not damaging ur hair, i got mine off ebay and are really easy to use and u can straighten them, u dont notice that there clip in extentions either.

Well a little highlight wouldn't hurt!!!! You can get it done so that it doesn't look dyed but very subtle!!! Wasn't your mum 12 once??

Be happy with your hair... cuz when you get highlights or dye it there will be regrowth and that isn't the prettiest thing

I wish I had never colored/highlighed my hair because once you start, you have to keep up with it and that costs a lot of money in the long run. I have to get my hair touched up every 3 months since my hair grows really fast and it costs $75 a touch up.

Seeing as your mum does it, tell her to resign being this style of hypocrit and do it. on the proper of the day your the only hu has to flow round which includes your hair so whats it to her. purely tell her to butt out and do it. your in hardship-free words youthful once.
