Yes, but don't use it to do that on your own. Get a commercial hair bleach from the store or your hair will turn funky colors. Hair is a very complex thing with lots of factors. It's not like tossing a t-shirt into some bleach. Not only are you likely to turn out with neon orange or even green hair (I've seen it), but you'll probably fry your hair so badly that you'll need to cut it off. Trust me on this, I used to bleach my hair white in order to dye it blue for years and years.
Just buy the stuff in the box in your grocery store, or, even better, let a pro do it for you.

Yes, it will lighten your hair but it will have an "orangish" look to it. Don't make the mistake of using it. It will make you look cheap and low class. Instead, buy a highlighting kit at the store for about $12.

Hydrogen peroxide is a bleach. It reacts with the coloring material in your hair making them less colored. So it lightens the color of your hair.

My cousin did it and it turned his hair a freaky shade of redish blonde. It looked really weird. you have to be careful!

kinda but if ur trying 2 make it blond just put lemon juice on ur hair
