My family is Muslim, on my father's side. On my mother's....guess! Jewish lineage all the way back to Germany and Poland.

My father is a very devout Muslim. Prays, no lie and without fail, five times a day. He goes to the Mosque more than any other Muslim I know. He's a very peaceful and loving man. Before he really embraced Islam (about the time I was 14...am 36, now), he drank alcohol every day for years, and gave it up when he went on his pilgrimmage. Since going on his pilgrimmage to Mecca, he's been the sweetest, most humble man I think I've ever known...and that means more than my brother, husband, and other male relatives on both sides of my family. In fact, many men of all faiths can learn from his example of how to treat ppl.

Now, does this mean that I believe in Islam? Only I can answer that, and I really choose not to share, but I respect his faith and never talk down about it to him. If I have questions about his faith, I read the Qu'ran....how could I not? He keeps a copy right on the mantle piece and I can go to it any time I please.
