It's simple...your body requires the 6 essential nutrients to function properly and survive. They are Vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, protein and water.

The hard part is determining the AMOUNT each of us requires. The amount will vary due to genetic structure and daily ativities.

The average person should consume about 50% protein,30% carbs and 20% fats though again, it'll vary based on the above stated.

WATER is ALWAYS essentail and anyone who says it makes you fat is ignorant.

Vitamins and minerals are essentail for proper organ function and healhty tissue growth as well as many other reasons.

ANY type of oil can be harmful if too much is consumed. Then again, water can be harmful if consumed too much and too fast also. Oils which do not contain saturated fats are your best option. It's all about learning what our body requires.

well to start off i am not a dietician but i am a health nut and i have studied nutrition for awhile now

eat lots of vegatables, your dinner plate should be consumed with 50% veggies 25% starchy like potates or rice perfferably whole grain and 25% lean meats like skinnless boneless chicken breats or fish
and for oils use oils with mono or poly unsaturated fats like olive oil sunslower oil peanut oil or corn oil
water drink as much as you can if you dont you will bloat up because your body will automaticly retain the water and you will gain water weight
make sure you buy low fat or no fat dairy products milk is a good source of calcium and protien, and be sure to take a multi-vitamin while you diet or change your eating habits make sure you get alot of the b-vitamns to help promote carb and fat metoblizem which gives you excellant energy

hope this helps
God Bless
