Lets say you are a guy and you are engaged to a girl that you just met 6 months ago, but you had a one night stand with one of your good friends that's a girl. Is that cheating?

uuhhh, YEAH!!! Sleeping with someone else is cheating, regardless of whether it is once or a thousand times...if he is cheating while your engaged, imagine what he will do while your married, drop the zero and find yourself a hero!

Without a doubt that is cheating.
Some people might be ok with it if you had a one night stand with someone else while you merely had a GIRLFRIEND (and were in a clearly-stated open relationship). I am not one of those people, but you are asking a question of opinion, and I recognize that some people have different opinions from my own.
However, the person in question has a FIANCEE. This is an entirely different matter: it is the humble opinion of myself and I believe the VAST majority of the population that you don't mess around with anyone else while you are engaged. It's cheating and it's wrong.

Yes, an engagement is a try it before you buy it thing, lets see if we can be exclusive, if not then this won't work. If he is going to cheat before you get married, what would make you think he wouldn't cheat after? Simple lack of respect on his part, and you cannot change that. Sounds like a loser, remember there are plenty of decent fish in the sea.

If he had a one night stand while he was in a monogamous relationship (including being engaged), then, yes, he cheated. The standard rule is if you wouldn't do it in front of your parents or the parents of your significant other, it's cheating.
