Not unusual for this particular breed to have issues like this due to their elongated backs. You should probably get your doxie in to the vet for a check up to ensure it's not serious. They may decide to put him on some anti-inflamatory meds to bring any possible swelling down. This can also be the beginning of a slipped disk in the back, so it's really important you see your vet to rule this out.

That sucks. Take him/her to the vet. If your dog is heavy then that could be part of the problem. They will probably give the dog medication if it is serious enough. It is going to depend on the diagnosis. It could just be a temporary thing due to excircise habits, or even eating habits.

My advice is take him/her to the vet sooner than later. It can only help.

dont let him jump up on furniture/steps/ etc...daschunds have very weak hind legs and excessive jumping will led to paralysis later in life...take it to the vet 2 b sure that it has pulled any tendons/ligaments, but aftr that, make sure it isnt jumping!
