I like the big ones wrapped in bacon and grilled.
They are good grilled inside too.

Here is a recipe that is great, note 7-9 minutes cooking time for the scallops. If you cook them too long they will be tough.
Scallops with Lemon Butter
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 pounds sea scallops
3/4 cup fine dry unseasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
dash paprika
1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, about 1 large lemon
PREPARATION:
Roll scallops in bread crumbs. Melt half of butter in skillet over medium low heat. Add salt, pepper, and paprika. Add scallops and sauté slowly for 7 to 9 minutes, or until golden brown. Turn to brown evenly.
Remove scallops to heated serving dish and keep hot. Put remaining butter, parsley, and lemon juice in skillet; heat and pour over scallops. Serve with rice or vegetables.
Serves 4.

Fry them in oil, not very long at all or they go chewy. They only need about a minute each side, they should go crispy and golden brown. Season them with salt and pepper before frying, just as the last minute is ending give them a squeeze of lemon juice and they should be done. Enjoy!

Lightly fry them in a little oil or butter and a little garlic, (season alittle)
Dont cook them for too long or they overcook and go tough, just lightly fry them so that they colour on bith sides. You dont want to spoil the flavour of the scallops so only use light flavourings and avoid anything strong (other than the garlic).
Hope I helped you to fill your tum!

Grilled is best when it comes to sea scallops- wrap scallops in bacon and stick them with a toothpick that has been soaked in water for five min. then grill.
Sauted in butter and garlic is best when it comes to bay scallops-use REAL butter for the best flavor!
cooking times for:
bay scallops (small ones):3-5 min
sea scallops (large ones):6-7 min

If frying, 2 mins on each side. That's what all the cookbooks and TV chefs say.
Yum love scallops! Wrap them in Parma ham, delicious!

You want to sear them in a smoking hot/sizzling pan with a little olive oil/butter mix (the two mixed will not burn as fast). You should season them a little first and it only takes a few minutes on each side or they will overcook and get tough.
