The original Blasphemy Challenge, in which atheist teens and young adults were asked to say they don't believe in the Holy Spirit on YouTube:

http://www.blasphemychallenge.com

Now Christians have caught wind of it. One spokesman for Concerned Women for America, a right-wing group, calls them "attention-starved boneheads".

And now there is a Christian response called "Challenge Blasphemy."

Are other Christians really this scared or upset that some teens and young adults don't believe in their God or Holy Spirit?! I don't get it. I'm curious. I'm Pagan; I'm not upset if someone doesn't believe in my Gods.

I think what these Christians don't realize is that they're only proving the point of this experiment. Christians believe that they, and they alone, have The Truth™, and any dissent or rebellion is somehow offensive. People are getting upset because they're realizing that people don't believe in their god and are actually more than willing to bet their "eternal soul" on others' precious religious beliefs being completely absurd.

Here's hoping there will be at least 1,000 more video responses to this challenge. I'm glad that the Blasphemy Challenge has gotten so much press. The Rational Response Squad links up to the Atheist Network and WhyDoesGodHateAmputees.com, both great resources.

I think that this "challengeblasphemy" thing isn't going to generate half as much buzz.

It's about time people stood up and said that they don't believe in the Holy Spirit. Christians can get as upset as they want - it should give them some idea how atheists feel when they see teens, most of whom have been indoctrinated from a young age, professing to believe in it. It's like watching sixteen year olds prattle on about Santa Claus...very disturbing.

The two problems I have with the Blasphemy Challenge are:
a) it is not blasphemy to state that one does not believe in God or the Holy Spirit; and
b) the challenge encourages belief in the "soul" by inviting people to trade it for a DVD.

for my area, i'm appalled that Christians are ignorant about blaspheming the Holy Spirit as you obviously are. Is studying scripture in context purely too puzzling? examine the financial ruin from the starting up. Jesus is responding to being accused of operating miracles via the potential of Beelzebub and not in any respect the potential of the Holy Spirit. He calls this blasphemy antagonistic to the Holy Spirit, i.e. attributing the artwork of the Holy Spirit to the devil. It has not something to do with denying the Holy Spirit's mere existence. once you're going to fake to be a Christian, a minimum of diagnosis the basics.

Chirstians are supposed to spread the word of the Holy Spirit, and they are taught that the Devil works in people to make sure that God is denied. Maybe they think that this blasphemy challenge will debunk the myth of their God, and more people will begin to openly deny him.

When I was a kid, I went to church and to a Chrstian school. I was basically taught that if I did not believe in God and was not a CHristain, I was a bad person. I know now that is not true, but I wish I had not been so effectively brainwashed. You can be a good and moral person without being a christain. Blasphemy is not the sign of being evil.......

I wish I could take the challenge. But I don't have a microphone.Awesome videos though.Very humorous watching people deny the existence of the Holy Spirit with reasoning.

They get upset at it because they know, from watching these videos themselves I suspect, that this challenge really shows just how many people have opened their eyes and realized how truly silly it is to be superstitious in an age of reason.

I'm pagan also and it doesn't bother me if someone doesn't believe in my gods.. but, for christians, the blaspheming of the Holy Spirit (which is not what these people are doing.. to blaspheme the Holy Spirit means to attribute its works to evil) is a very serious matter... it's the one unforgiveable sin.

I'm not a Pagan (well according to some definitions atheists are pagans) but I "believe" in your gods. I don't believe in the Christian God however. I don't think deities actually exist as anything more than a concept and any deity who's definition goes above that of a concept does not exist. The blasphemy challenge is stupid. It is attention seeking. I don't run around "blaspheming" any deities. It is a waste of my time and effort.

.The people that created this "Challenge" don't realize that what they conceive is a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is not exactly what is meant as such.
Firstly, if you say something and really don't mean it (as many of these poor confused kids have done, you can see their regret a mile away) it is not such a sin.
Secondly, sinning against the Holy Spirit is the accumulation of all your life's works.

So I really think their "Project" is fruitless and silly and that many of these kids will be repentant their decisions(if they haven't already) , and we must be there to assure them that God forgives silly mistakes and they were fooled by people that allow themselves to be used by the enemy

Yes - The most Satanic site I have seen in a long time. Straight from the devil's mouth and that old serpent has become so brazen that as a Christian I know Jesus Christ must come soon. That old dragon has come down to us to destroy our children.

These young people without knowledge are damning their souls to hell.

Jesus said, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?"

There is nothing "rational" about this website. It is depraved and full of insanity - a totally confused mind.

I will acknowledge my Lord Jesus Christ even until the end. May the Lord rebuke you Satan!

I believe in God. The problem is that this is kind of an offence to christians, its like somekind of racism agaisnt us. THe creator of that blaphemy challenge is having racism agaisnt christian is like saying that we are uncivilise or acient to be forgotten. He never see what christianity does for this world there are missions that help people and he is just saying to think like him. and to break rules.
