I have a male cat who is 10 years old and i know what is up with this
mine decided to do the same thing so i asked the vet
he told me that cats have there own ideas of who they want to be around there is nothing wrong with you
just remember cats are different than dogs they do what they want when they want, you dont own the cat the cat owns you there is nothing you can do to get the cat to like you he is just independent and he is older now and understands he doesnt need you to protect him anymore he knows you love him and he loves you too but he is just starting the independent thing

We observed a cat 2 yrs. in the past and are very happy we did. Cats are particularly autonomous and don't require the comparable intense point of interest as canine do. this means which you will depart them (with numerous nutrition and water and a sparkling muddle field) for some days and that they would be wonderful. Our cat have been given the main effective packet of vaccinations which fee approximately $220 (that risk-free fecal count verify and commonplace checkup). There are some photos that would desire to receive according to annum--this is sweet to seek for suggestion from with a vet with regard to the specifics. and make useful that the vet makes use of the recent adjuvant-loose vaccines--they are the main secure vaccines invented so a ways. As for scratching the furnishings, our cat has been front-declawed by potential of her previous vendors so she does not scratch something yet some people sparkling up the priority by potential of paying for for scratch posts and putting "mushy Caps" on the cat's nails. Our cat is going to the bathing room outdoors yet whilst she replaced into sick and had to stay indoors for a month, we experienced her to apply the muddle field. i in my opinion took her to the muddle field some cases and raked my palms in the time of the muddle (that replaced into an suggestion I study someplace). After various tries, she finally began going there usually. Now she's healthful, inspite of the shown fact that, is going exterior to the bathing room, and has long previous thoroughly off her muddle field habit. stable success with the cat and bear in mind which you would be doing the bigger share of the cat care. :)

I wouldn't worry about it. He's probably just looking for a change of routine, or maybe wants to be buddies with the others in your family. He might think it's more comfortable on your husband's side because you toss and turn at night, for example.
Cats are a force of nature unto themselves. They don't follow ordinary rules. Cats make their own rules, and break them as they like. Just be happy you are owned by a cat, and go with the flow.

He's just being a cat. They have these phases. One of my female cats currently can't get enough of me. She follows me all around the house and garden and spends all evening snuggling. In a few weeks time I probably won't see her from dawn til dusk. That's cats for you.

I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that he's male.
We have four cats, three females and a male...from time to time they change their minds as to who their favorite person is.
This may sound off the wall, but have you changed deoderant or perfume recently?
If you have it may just be that he doens't like the scent it leaves on you.

It's just the nature of cats. They go through stages just like kids, and cats don't really care if they hurt your feelings. He'll decide your his favorite again, and then decide your not, then decide you are again. That's what my cat does, I call him traitor when he sleeps on my husband's side of the bed, but he doesn't care.

New territory is the important term here, but in a different way.
He is now taking care of his territory, and EVERYONE in it.
Your cat definitely cares about you...he just feels territorial of his toys, family.

Don't worry. They are fickle creatures at times. This summer my male kitty pretty much left home....wouldn't come in the house at all until I went looking for him, bodily carried him home and he's never left my side since.
The trollop. !!!
