I don't need one - but I'm much happier since I met the guy I'm seeing now. They may not do anything physical or financially for you - but emotionally it is very nice to have someone that really cares about you and enjoys spending time with you.

what's anything? if it's support, nurturing, caring, loving...then you don't need one without them. but if it's lots of money, social status, power and others...then your motivation will give people some reservation and doubts.
