Or to put it another way, if you had the choice of saving the president, OR 2 american soldiers who would you save?

I know as a 'liberal' which one I'd choose!

So was this a genuine question or just another attack on the President? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and answer it as a genuine question.

Our culture and belief system generally supports the notion that you cannot put a value or worth on any human life or number of human lives. If you're speaking purely from a practical standpoint, the 2 America soldiers would almost definitely voluntarily sacrifice themselves to protect their Commander in Chief. If the example were that they were all hostages, with 2 soldiers in one room, the President in another, and only enough time to save one room before the building exploded, then I would have to pick the President, regardless of who holds the office. The Presidency is much larger than the man who maintains it for 4 or 8 years. Also, military members generally accept that they are offering to lay down their life, if necessary, in the call of duty to serve our country.

Is a guy who leaves an obscene comment on a soldier's page worth more then Bush's. I dont think so. You are a low person and yet you play like you care about the Soldiers. You dont care about anything but your appearance. Oh yeah, the guy who asked this question told me that I should be busy shooting Iraqi's just because I am in the army. So there you have it, another peice of crap that doesn't appreciate what so many have sacraficed so he can make comments like that.

The President of the United States is more important than a lot of people in this country no matter who he is. I am not a huge fan of Bush, but the President is always going to be more important than a couple of soldiers.

What liberals will never except is that the US has an ALL VOLUNTEER FORCE!!!

The draft went away over 30 years ago with Vietnam. I'm retired Army, service member volunteer to be in the military and to serve overseas. I was deployed to Iraq 3 times during my 20 years of service.

Your question is pointless until the Democratic Congress succeeds in bringing the draft back...

Speaking in terms of the value of individual lives, I would say the 2 soldiers.

However, since GW is the President, and the Presidency is an institution, a key role in our government, I would say that the 2 soldiers lives are forfeit because they don't play a significant role in our government.

I genuinely do trust that some attempt to guard there coast and waters, and they could call themselves 'coast guard' in the adventure that they pick. there'll always be someone that ruins it for something, yet taking a hostage isn't a thanks to do it except they could practice he change into dumping waste. they might want to allow him pass. something basically doesn't scent top about this pirate ordeal IMO...

Since Bush doesn't care about the loss of life.....I would save the lives of 2 soldiers. Maybe his family has forgtten what it's like to grieve for the loss of a loved one. They need to be humbled. That is...if they had a conscience...which they don't.

It really isnt about who the president is - as much as what the president is...I would have to save the president just becuase I would like to think that no matter how much of a joke Bush has made of the office or of our country...that the office of president still stands for something.
