It is not always true, it really depends on the person. If they are an honest person atogether, then yeah, i would say they come out with more information than they would if they were sober. People, as I'm sure you know, just get more open with things when they have a few drinks or so. So maybe he either is totally opening up to you and is into you and wants to have something with you. OR he's just sloppy drunk and just want to get (excuse me for the bluntness) his d*&! wet from someone he knows he might actually have a chance. So, your call, I don't really know him or what kind of person he is. But if you like him more than a best friend..i say go for it! Best friends are usually the best relationships!

People do let go when they're drunk, but it doesnt always mean that its the "true feelings" coming out. Just like when you make out with someone you normally would have nothing to do with. Now you are his best friend, and Im sure at sometime, him being a guy, he has thought about you in a sexual way, so the alcohol may surely be helping him get over any anxiety and fear to ask you to take your friendship to a different level. But I would want something like that to happen sober! You also have to consider your friendship. Do you think your friendship would last if things didn't work out the way he may want? You might need to have a heart-to-heart.

From my past experience, and I'm sober now, people are more pron to be more honest when they are drunk. Think of it this way, in a controlled mind, which is not influenced by a chemical, one has the ability to hide what they say and how they truly feel, the old saying "Think before you speak" comes into play. With a person being drunk, they do not think before they speak and whatever is on their mind, will just come out.

The truth is that people say things they mean, or try things under the "excuse" of alcohol to see how it goes. They feel like they can always blame the alcohol if they're called on it.
Good for you to not fall for the good looking boy looking for a place to relieve himself. You're a woman, you're a friend, you're more than a single body part, you have standards. I don't even know you , but I'm proud of you for standing up for your standards. Stay a strong minded girl and know that the horny guys you turn down will actually think much more highly of you. Girls like you may not get as much "action" in the short run, but you'll end up with the best choices when it comes to finding your future soul mate.
Some girls are like pieces of toilet paper, a guy uses them when he needs to attend to a biologic relief and then tosses them away.
OOthers are gems that he finds and keeps and shows off to his friends and family.

I think so, I think when you drink it reveals your true feelings and gives you courage to say them. Unfortunately I think more people need to say their true feelings when sober, because it means more, it gives you an edge, and you don't have to wonder if the person who said all these things while drunk remembers saying them the next day. That is the worst feeling in the world. So in my life, when this happens, I just remember what he said, hope he does too, most of the time he doesn't, but I just hope that he said what he feels and had the courage to tell me.

I believe people are more likely to speak the truth when drunk. Their judgment is impaired and they are less inhibited.
But you must not exploit the fact they are drunk and take advantage of the situation. Perhaps you could bring up his comments to him later when he's sober. He may deny saying it or say he was too drunk to know what he's saying but you never know. He might admit to the truth.

alcohol is by no means a truth serum. It does help people feel more relaxed and helps them forget their inhibitions. That's why drunk people often do things they might regret later - normally something would hold them back but the alcohol lets them move past their inhibitions.
I'd say your friend is telling the truth, in my humble opinion.

Being "drunk" distorts everything and that includes words coming out of the mouth.
Better wait and let him say what he needs to say when he's sober and then make your decision. You'll be glad you did. And hooray for not allowing him to come over in the distorted state that he was in.

We get less inhibited when we are drunk. Sometimes that reveals a truth and sometimes we just think it is true at the time. Tell him to ask you again when he's sober then you'll know.
