I did for 30 hours. It was for a cause though. When I was in high school & religious & actually went to church, I was in a youth group & we participated in a 30 hour "famine" with a bunch of other youth groups in the area. All we could have was water & juice....the juice was to keep blood sugar & electrolyte levels normal so nobody passed out. The only ones allowed to have food were people who took meds that REQUIRED food on the stomach...and they had to have a note from their doctor. (The food provided was a small bowl of bland red beans & rice though.) We all stayed in one of the buildings connected to the church during this & to pass the time they had various activities for us.....including a "scavenger hunt". This "hunt" consisted of us going out to the surrounding neighborhoods & collect non-perishable items to donate to food pantries around the city. Talk about difficult!! We were in a VERY rich part of town!! Something like that really shows how certain people can be like!! Some people closed the door in our faces & made sure to call neighbors down the street so that by the time we got there it looked as if nobody was home. Others were more than happy...one couple even invited us to come inside the house for a bit so they could find some stuff....and they were in the middle of hosting a HUGE party!!

As long as you're doing something to keep busy & keep your mind off of it, fasting is actually not a hard thing to do....although I would NOT recommend it for dieting/weight loss purposes. It's not healthy to go about it that way.

From 5 am until the moon came out at night.

What happened is that when I had tea before we ate, it was like heaven.

Felt good to fast and it wasn't difficult knowing it was a challenge and that others were doing it too. It was empowering.

Very calming in a way too.

I went on a water and lemon juice fast for 10 days. It was rough, and I was hungry, but it did clear up my skin..I wouldn't suggest it though, I don't think it wasworth it..
