Do you think it is possible for something like European opera form to work out in india combining European styles with Hindu/Carnatic classical music and Bharat Natyam? I have written the words and story to an opera that takes place in Austria, but I want to adapt it to an Indian setting so Indians might perhaps enjoy it from their perspective. Actually, I think the concept of the story would go better with Indians, but I started the project in collaboration with a European composer.

Opera emerged in Italy around the year 1600 and is generally associated with the Western classical music tradition. It is possible to establish an Indian opera but definetely, there will be people coming to it after a year's running.
