Actually no.

In fact though people will say that American is a "Christian" nation, I fail to see the Christianity in it. I believe sincerely that Americans are further away from God simply because of the material wealth that we have been blessed with. The focus is man-centered and 'how WE did it', losing focus on God. Americans are spiritually corrupt, morally bankrupt, but hey! "We did it" "We don't need God" "God who? I made my life, not God"

You will notice that countries who have what would appear to be less material wealth, are more spiritually rich. Ecaudor, Portaguel, Spain, various countries in Central and South America, etc.

The day may come where we no longer have material wealth, because we squandered the graces God has given this country. Then perhaps the answer will be different. It is during personal strife, financial woes, and spiritual dryness we seek God. We fail to acknowledge Him any other time in general.

Actually, the people closer to God are in Africa, China, India and Brazil. They are closer to God because they have less than we do, so they need him more.

We Americans need to get to the point where we depend on God instead of our stuff.

Not at all, people often feel no need for God when things are going great and they have plenty. America was founded for freedom of religion. We were a Christian country and have sent the gospel to other nations. That is the reason we are so blessed.

Your question assumes that Americans are closer to God. They aren't, because God doesn't exist. If he did, what makes you think that Americans would be "closer" to him? America was not, in fact, founded to be a Christian nation, church and state were supposed to be kept separate, and John Adams said as much many times.

No.
Read in the Bible, Revelation 3:17..... 'You say, "I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing." But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.'
