April in Carmel can get unexpectedly chilly, rainy or foggy. Since its a day time wedding dont go to formal but be sure to bring a warm coat just in case. As some of the otehrs said if you just a guest, you can never go wrong with a nice suit...otherwise rent if your looking to save money

Dude you can get a cool summer suit, check out this tux on www.tuxedojunction.com. Look for the Destination Wedding Suit. It's nice and light and airy and you can RENT it as opposed to buying it. It's not too formal and you should look very cool in it.

Wear a dark suit, a white shirt and a tie. You can outfit yourself at a reputable department store, such as Macy's, for about $ 200.

its usually a tuxedo/suit...but if its _your_ wedding, personally i think you should buy it. oh well, but you dont have to, maybe you can borrow or even rent.
if youre just a guest, well you can just go with the slacks/khakis and a formal jacket over a shirt or polo.
