No, it does not sound good to me. To fellowship with God you do not have to ingest herbs or smoke funny cigarettes. God tells us to love not the things of the world, rather to love God and trust in Him. When I pray to God I want my own brains working, not some hallucinogenic substance.

"I have given you all the seed-bearing plants and herbs to use." Genesis 1:12.
Oh, I know - nothing could possibly be more idiotic than trying to justify your position by quoting scripture. Still, this just proves that you can always find a biblical text to support your stance on just about anything - and then another to contradict it!
True religion IS intoxication. The use of stimulants to promote spiritual ecstacy is justified by the results. Many religions, in fact, ceremonially employ intoxicants. But see "The Psychology of Hashish" by Oliver Haddo for a full discussion of the correlation between hashish intoxication and the Hindu and Buddhist mystic states.

we take wine in communion...that is the blood of Christ
Indian tribes take peyote...it is in their religious ceremoney and legal. The Indians want to converse with God.
who is to say what is right and wrong? My great grandmother smoked Opium and in her generations they took a lot of medecines that had cocaine and morphine in it, and in England they use herion to treat cancer and other chronic pain suffers like they use morphine.
I say it is up to the individual as long as you are not hurting anyone else in your use of any drug or alcohol.
Hitler took large amounts of drugs all his life and it did not stop him from conquering Europe.
Who knows what the people smoked or snorted in the old testament? People are so uptight that they forget the biggest drug users are on meds from the doctor...does that make it right because you have a script? Elvis say it is not true..lol

Weed is harmless, in fact it is much safer than drinking. You are less apt to act like a moron. The only reason it is illegal is because the government makes more money in fines, court costs, etc.. from it being illegal. I say go right ahead, and smoke one for all of us. God understands, and I don't think he'll mind. I have a good relationship with God, and he doesn't mind when I blaze one, who's to say he didn't do it??? No one knows for sure

Every commandment in the Bible defines sin as basically anything pleasurable to the self....to the flesh....to the ego. Where do YOU think the Bible's going to fall on the weed issue?? Think about it.......
oh yeah.....God made strychnine, nightshade, death cap mushrooms, and hemlock all natural, too.

I read that on a tshirt and it kinda made sense.
I suppose that the whole thing about this is the losing control of your mind factor. That is a no go.

Hey, if you believe all that nonsense, then he created weed in the first place - and, as you mentioned, some cultures believe feeling high brings you closer to him...

My best guess is that YHVH made the medicinal properties to be taken medicinally. If you use a medicine recreationally you are abusing a gift He gave.
