Messed up, I know. My husband and I have a cat that hates me and loves my husband. And I take care of her. She likes attention from him and she might be a little p!ssed at me because I brought a male cat home to impregnant her.

She's not evil, she's a kitten and they are full of energy.
DO NOT use a spray bottle on the cat.
My Vet told me that is the worst possible way to train a cat.
First of all if the water gets into the cats ears, nose or eyes it can cause a nasty build up of yeast resulting in the need for a trip to the Vet.
Second he said the cat won't associate the water bottle with the behavior, it will associte it with you and could cause the cat to fear you.
The best way to stop a cat from doing something you don't want it to do is to clap your hands and say NO very loudly and firmly.
It won't happen overnight, but the cat will soon get the idea that the behavior is bad and will stop doing it.

My cat is pretty crazy too. I've read a couple of books and some online forums and the one common answer I've found is that the cat maybe under stimulated (aka BORED). Because the cat is bored, it has to find something to do to pass the time. Unfortunately the thing that the cat finds to do is usually annoying for the owner.
The number one suggestion is to let the cat be an indoor/outdoor cat because it allows the cat to do some of the things that come naturally outside. Sometimes that's not an option - like in my case - because of the owner's living situation (I live on the top floor of an apartment).
There are other things you can do if outside is not an option. One book I read suggested instead of putting all of the cat's food into one bowl, to place small piles of food around the house. Instead of just walking to the bowl and eating all of the food in a few minutes, the cat gets to "hunt" (a natural instinct) for the food. Another suggestion was to simply allot a few 10-minute play sessions with the cat per day. My cat likes to play fetch, so I throw a milk ring with him for about 15 minutes after I get home from work. I usually do this for another 15 minutes or so before I go to bed. My last suggestion is to simply have toys around the house for the cat to play with. Get a scratch pad, some toys with catnip inside, and a few balls.
If you keep your cat busy with suggestions like these, he will not have time to get into trouble! Good luck!

ok, the first question I even ought to ask is is he an indoor cat? the reason I ask is that cats constrained interior have a tendency to be better mischievous and into each thing than cats who've get proper of entry to to the exterior. If he has get proper of entry to correctly outside then convinced, I trust the perfect posting, he continues to be 'a kitten' till a minimum of three and could mellow out with age, I promise you! also some breeds are clearly better sedate than others case in element I had a Maine Coon rescue cat once that grow to be a NIGHTMARE when I 1st were given him, stuck 3 mice an afternoon, peed everywhere, sprayed everywhere, wandered off for days on end, continuously on the flow, yet very loving and chatty. He mellowed out right into a dazzling lad and lived lengthy and chuffed once he were given over his mad area and settled in. It does sound like your cat is utilising both you and the residing house as his leisure in the present day. Does he have a good number of toys,.. empty egg boxes with tit-bits, fishing rod toys etc, this can help. As on your cat's bow,l use a canines bowl, or something heavy duty that isn't turn over. it would not count number what cats devour out of see you later because it matches them! Flipping the carpet over is area of a cat's 'having a mad second!' yet another question, is he up thus far which includes his flea meds? Fleas at the instantaneous are coming to the fore and should be truly aggravating to a cat and force them mad. One very last element, and it warrants thinking, grow to be he taken away very youthful from his mum, (in which case he will have grow to be extremely connected to you and quite extremely omit you once you at the instantaneous are not there and hence educate interest searching for and unfavorable behaviour). the in hardship-free words very last element to consider, and that i do not anticipate for a second your cat has, yet available mind harm is likewise a chance. My sister has a 'particular needs' cat who's very diverse from the others she's had! Your tale is one reason once you undertake mature cats, a minimum of you understand what you're in for! desire this helps. If all else nonetheless fails, and in case you're able to have adequate money it, you ought to decide on to speak to a behaviorist, they're magnificent. regardless of the indisputable fact that get your fingers on Vicki corridor, the Cat Whisperer books, there are 4 or 5 of them, they look a ought to for letting you in on the secrets and techniques of ways a cat's ideas works, and there are a good number of case study of cats matching the outline of yours.

You gotta try discipline first. She may not be a good house cat. I got a spray bottle with water. Everytime my cat did something bad I yelled "No" and sprayed her back once. Didn't take too long before she realized that tearing things up was a bad idea. You may also need a scratching post for her to satisfy her instinct.

You need to make sure she knows that your the prime caregiver and make sure shes knows that your the boss and you don't want her to be afraid of you. All kittens tear things up the best way to deal with it is keep the toilet paper and blinds where she can't reach them.

It sounds like she is still a kitten. If she is a kitten that is normal behavior for a while and will outgrow that behavior eventually. Both my cats went through all that when they were kittens.
