This war was a lie. This government is a lie. The govt must find ways to waste our money while not improving the lives of the resident population. The purpose is to tax us into poverty so we lose what little political power we still have.

They aren't just doing it in Iraq either--Somalian refugees in Maine are moved into free apartments (they rip the cupboards out of the kitchens and replace them with chicken cages), somehow even though they can't speak English and don't have jobs you can plainly see that they drive lexuses (really they do--I'm not exaggerating), pay for groceries with a food stamp card, and we (the American taxpayers) pay for it all, meanwhile Vietnam vets sleep on the streets of the country for whom they fought for.

As for Iraq, wars without end are perfect for spending taxpayers money (read 1984) and running up debt that our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc, will have to pay for.

Really people need a simple history lesson--while the centers for indoctrination (universities) are teaching that our founding fathers were terrorists, the opposite was true, and people should be aware of what our founding fathers actually did, why they did it, how they did it and the purpose for EVERY SINGLE AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION!

I have a friend in Hattiesburg, MS who lost everything during Katrina. The entire town was destroyed. FEMA never showed up, and still hasn't been there.

Yes, the $$$ needs to be spent domestically. Iraq is a mess on so many levels I don't know where to begin.

Cash is a great thing to send to a nation that has a very unstable economy if you want the $$$ to be used against you. Paul Bremmer should be hanged.

True liberal thinking...throw money at it and it will either go away or solve the problem. Look at the trillions you guys have thrown at poverty in this country and see how many you have raised out of it.

It's the old $2,500.00 hammer trick. The government lists part # 60986751 at $2,500.00 (it's a $2.00 hammer), they spend the money secretly on defense projects not approved by a liberal congress. Same as the 6 or so failed Mars missions. Those were actually launched spy satellites with armed components to take out our enemy's satellites.

Wake up man!

They can't.

That's why the Republicans are being quiet on this matter.

What I can't understand is why Bush would appoint a man, (Paul Bremer) as Ambassador to Iraq, that doesn't know how, and doesn't even care to, balance a checkbook.

Hm-mm!

$9 billion, that's not $9.00 folks.

That's not even just $900.00.

It's $9 billions shrink wrapped in groups of $100.00 each.

Lost?

i have serious doubts that the budget monies would go where they're supposed to go (or where they say they're going)...most of the money sent over there already has been sqandered or unaccounted for...not to mention that we're building a very big embassy over there and something like 14 permanent military bases....we're not going anywhere anytime soon.

and yes, i think that money is best spent here, although i don't deny that the iraqis who want us there appreciate it (however many that is), but i'm not sure how much we can help at this point, it's a barely-contained chaos threatening to spiral out of control...and to think, we're probably about to attack iran too

OK, what happened to all the money that went to the victims of Hurricane Katrina? Much of that disappeared too.

Wherever you send money, some of it will get wasted and some will get spent wisely. It was true in Iraq and it was true after Katrina.

Well will always have needy Americans..,we had them with every president in office and if that problem could have been solved it would have been.We are at war and we need to take care of business.Illinois couldnt explain why millions of dollars collected by the tolls came up missing..that is still a mystery. And theres no war in Illinois.

Hell, ALL of our money could be helping Americans. But instead the Repubs and Dems insist on spending it elsewhere.

It sickens me to see billions go to other countries when ours is in such bad shape. Also dislike celebrities adopting children from other countries when there are millions of children without homes in the US.

Bleh...
