All the files from O office are in desktop but when I click on them it says select the place where I should extract the selected items ? Where do I choose?- a list comes up; My Docs? My Computer? etc etc ( I am computer illiterate- please help!)

Create a new folder on your desktop and extract them there. Then run the installation. You can delete this folder after the install.

The option to run setup after extraction is not included in all extraction programs, which is why I suggested creating a new directory (folder) on the desktop to extract it to. However, I would assume that most likely she does, therefore that would work as well.

Just use all the defaults. It most likely extracts to your temporary files directory. Just make sure you click the option to run setup after the extraction is done.

It wont matter that much which one you use. I would just use the default setting, that is whichever one comes up. Desktop is fine, so is My Docs.
