It won't have an effect...we'll continue to fly despite our helicopters being shot down.

It seems the insurgents have figured out that you can kill far more troops in a helo than a few in a humv. I can only think from now on the helos will fly higher to get out of gun range. The helos in question were all shot down by gun fire not missiles if missiles do come on the stage the Army is screwed. The Army won't have any safe way to move troops and supplies. The only sound option in that case is to have heavily armored convoys and that will mean a massive escalation in the numbers of troops and tanks. Or we could do what is really needed get the hell out NOW!!!!!

Inin ... Low level travel at high speed is a possible evasive technique that might be employed depending on the circumstances. Then again, if these attacks are occurring over open desert areas, there isn't really anywhere to hide unless they do the opposite and fly at very high altitudes. In other words, low and fast when they're in town and go high when over large open areas.

Itw ont effect the air operations at all most of the fighter jets can handle the jobs o fthe helicopters or the trusty and durable A-10's so its wont effect air operations at all.

The enemy has adapted tactics to counter the chopper threat.

I have not read or heasrd any published reports that indicate they are using new weapons to bring the birds down so the insurgents have adapted. It is possible that they were provided training in this by foreign powers (Iran, Syria, Russia...).

What to do? Commanders will make adjustments to chopper strategies. Let them handle it.

It is difficult to say what tatic the military will use next.I would love to see them bomb the hell out of the border and keep the iranian insurgants away from our boys, but then again if Iraq doesn't start taking the bull by the horns and step up..,it may come to that.

That's why we need to say "ENOUGH" and go in there with bombers and complete the job. I'm tired of us trading bullets with these crackpots that don't care whether they live or die. We need to go in there with some true airpower and get rid of them all at once.
