Or will someone post the Bible quote the fool has in his heart there is no good,
or will someone ask if man came from monkeys why are there still monkeys,
or will someone say religious people have low iqs,
or will someone say religions should be banned,

Can we just have one day where we get along?

What fun would that be? I personally think better conversation comes from conflict.

You're asking why people with religious differences don't get along. My friend, they never have and they never will. How many wars have been fought over this same issue? As Christians, we should know to love our fellow man regardless of their beliefs. You can't whip someone into believing. If someone is ready, they will look for the information without us being overly assertive. We should open the door and if they choose to go thrugh it, it will be their choice. In the meantime, understand that others will believe what they choose no matter how we feel about it. If they choose to attack us, it is only words for now. Just don't be the one doing the attacking. We are Christians and we don't do that. Although I'm always up for a good debate.

Jim Darwin of the Gap: I have seen some of your other answers in days before and some of your questions. You totally crack me up most of the time! Today, you are on a serious theme! Tolerance is the word for the day, I hope. If more religions, or non religions would be tolerant of other people and not try to force every one to believe what they do, we could get along and maybe start on the road to "world peace". I am a believer and I saw an answer from a person who says they speak the truth in love, so it's ok. The speak the truth in love issue is for people of the same beliefs. I am a Bible believer and I am strong in my convictions and will take EVERY opportunity to try to sway others to believe. There is a fine line, but distinctive, that can be crossed. You can say the truth without bashing others. Yes, Jesus called the religious people of his day a generation of Vipers, but he also healed ALL that came to him. When we, as believers, can heal all that come to us, then we can do the tough love thing. For now, keep the tough love for the other believers who stray! One day of people getting along in this forum just may lead to another. Do any of us dare to hope!? Oh, if I have offended non believers in the past, please excuse my ignorance and accept my apology. Thank You.

Heh, I am thinking that this may not be the day. Maybe tomorrow.

Actually I enjoy reading the mudslinging sometimes. It reminds me that everyone is different, and everyone has a right to be wrong and defend it with all their hearts. It makes for some fun reading, and gets me laughing.

I thing overall, when someone is struggling with religion or life many of the answers are life affirming and helpful. And that is coming from Atheists, Agnostics, and Theists alike. There are always a few nuts and jerks on all sides, but they are just nuts and jerks.

Or will someone you've never even heard of send you hatemail through Yahoo because you're of another faith?

Oh, right that already happened to me today. No, I don't think today is the day for everyone to get along. It's started like any other.

Most of that's already happened, Jim, except I have not seen the monkey thing yet this morning. So today is not the day.

Doubtful friend, by the time coffees are finished you will most likely have another sarcastic or you may like to say ironic statement that mocks the beliefs of Christians. Go ahead and start 'er up!

I just wish that agnostics like me, and christians could all just be nice to each other...everybody has different views on life, but bashing is not required. I do not believe in god, who cares..

I'll get along with everyone except creationists- that is the only religious issue on which I will never compromise.
