There are different views on baptism, I think that it is used to signify the belief in the death, burial, and resurrection. For you to believe that, you must know about it, so to me baptism as a baby is only a dedication by the parents, not a commitment of faith by the baby.

Dear Friend,
The Bible teaches that Jesus was baptized by full water immersion at the age of around 30.
The LORD provided an example for us to follow as well as a teacher, Savior and friend in Jesus. Therefore from a scriptural point of view it is probably better to consider baptism at the point when the Gospel is more firmly understood and baptism is asked for.
What qualifies one to be a Christian is that you turn to the Lord for forgiveness and acknowledge Jesus as your Savior and king, however you should not judge your fellow Christians who believe otherwise, or judge whether or not they come up to your definition of being a Christian, for we are imperfect and not fit to judge this. Judgment is only for the Lord.
God Bless

Why not? Christianity is full of differing belief systems. Some believe in Baptism by immersion some in sprinkling. Every denomination claims to have a monopoly on the Truth. In reality they all have different interpretations of the same verses. If God has a single truth, it would be much clearer in the bible.

Jesus commanded that all Christians need to be baptised. The baptism performed today in obedience to Jesus’ command is also in imitation of the example he set. Therefore the meaning of his baptism adheres to the baptism of his followers today. It was a symbol that was enacted openly, showing to John that he had dedicated himself to the doing of his Father’s will as that will was revealed to him in his Father’s Word. In the tenth chapter of Hebrews Paul applies the prophecy of the fortieth Psalm to Christ Jesus, stating that “when he comes into the world” the prophecy applies. There is no question about the fact of Jesus’ being immersed at the age of thirty years, because there he performed that act of public confession. He had made a dedication to Jehovah, not at the time of his birth, because he was a little baby then; not when he was twelve years of age, because he did not perform Jehovah’s work in fulfillment of the wonderful prophecies relative to the Christ between the ages of twelve and thirty. No, at twelve years of age he did not say to his heavenly Father: ‘I have come to do your will,’ and then wait until he was thirty years of age before starting it, eighteen years later. Rather, he at his maturity, his majority of thirty, dedicated himself to Jehovah, and that dedication he symbolized by water immersion.
Baptism represents A DECISION to serve God, you cannot make such a decision at birth, you have to choose to be a Christian(follower) of Christ.

Read Romans 10, it talks about being saved and becoming a Christian.
A confession of faith is simply telling others that you believe that Jesus is Lord, and in all of who God is.
Then after you talk the talk, you walk the walk.
It's like with a wedding. The ceremony where you declare to everyone that you desire to get married is the wedding. Walking the walk is the everyday work, growing, and learning to love that you put into a marriage.
If you believe in God, believe Jesus is the son of God, confess to your friends / family that you believe, and put your faith in him by following in his footsteps by living the way God wants then congratulations you are a Christian!! :-)

No.
One must Hear the gospel, believe it, then repent of ones sins BEFORE baptism.
A baby can't do any of these. There wasn't a single baby baptized in the bible.
The concept of being born with sin is not biblical. The 10 commandments show us what sin is. Babies aren't able to do any of them.

Baptism is a public declaration of a person dedicating himself to God. Did a baby told its parents, it wanted to be baptized when it did not even know how to speak?

Being baptized at birth is a ceremony to dedicate a child. It has noting to do with the child's salvation. One is not a Christian just because he is baptized, young or not.
