I don't know why I am asking this question, I am just lost. Last year my father died who was the main bread winner in the family. I also got married last year in the same month my father died. Since then, I have been looking after my mother and sister. But now I have reached the stage that managing to stay afloat finacially is just becoming unbearable, and everything around me is blowing up in my face.

- Having to sell my house.
- Having to sell my car.
- Being made redundant soon with no prospects for re-training.
- Marriage in trouble.
- Suffering from depression and mood swings.
- Unable to pay bills.

I am now beginning to think if I was born unlucky. I had a very tough up bringing as child right through to my adult years. I just don;t know what to do. I find myself to be hopeless and economically unviable. I am beginning to think if there is any point in my existence.

Well dear, you need to realize that there IS a point to your existence! God will only give someone as much as they can handle....obviously He thinks you are very strong. Every one has ups and downs in their life...some way more than others...but if there is a will there is a way...find someone to talk to...a counselor, close friend, etc. and the best of luck to you. Keep your chin up, one way or another things will get better.

Thinking like this is not helping. Get state aid for your mother and sister. Work on fixing your marriage. Call creditors and make payment plans. See what you can do to save house. Doing all this well take up so much time you won't have time to be depressed. Also you well be doing something to make things better so you well feel better. Good luck.

wow man you seem to have a lot on your plate dude I really think that things can ONLY get better since everything is as bad as it is. I've had a lot of seriously bad times too, and I often thought of suicide. and because of all that I now take medicine and go to therapy, I also have been to a lot of groups, it's tough but it's helped me trmendously in the long run...............

Try to solve problems one at a time so that you don't feel overwelmed. It will help if you write things down in problem/ solution format. Can you Mom/ Sister work so that they can partially support themselves? Talk to your husband about the problems that you are experiencing. Two heads are better than one in solving problems. You will feel comforted by his support also.

of course it will get better. i hope you are getting some treatment for the depression, even if it is only meds. ask doc about support groups, either survivor groups and/or groups for people with depression. Hopefully your husband is being supportive of you here. Have you talked to him about how you are feeling?

Don't think that way, your family loves you and will blame themselves for putting to much on you. See if you can get your mom, sister and wife to help you out. No man can do it all alone!

We are given challenges to make us stronger, not to make us weaker.

You have taken too much on and you are now paying the price of it. You need to start saying "no" and living your life and stop living everyone else's life.
