There aren't really any gifts of the spirit that can be defined or listed. Paul gave examples of many in his letters, but I don't believe he intended for them to be identified as products available for use.

I once studied the gift of prophecy in the Old Testament, and I was able to identify 16 different gifts that were called by the same name!

Yes, but by saying the gifts of the spirit what do you mean, do you mean love, joy peace or do you mean, Acts 2:18-20 When it tells us in the end times your sons and daughters will profesy and dream dreams and see visions if you are talking about the second one then yes I believe its true and in the Bible it also talks about Paul and he told us that he spoke in tounges more than anyone else and without the gift of love we are nothing.

He also told us that he gives each of us gifts for some he gives the gift of profecy ( stepping out when you believe God is speaking through you) and also people who have the gift of leadership ( to use it wisely and take that job seriously) also the gift of encouragment ( those who step out and help those in need, I believe that God wants to give people gifts in the spirit yet alot of churches dont believe in this and that is why they have no power. In the Bible it talks about how Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead, and when he left he sent the Holy-spirit to be with the disciples and he gave them power and authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead and thats exacly what they did. But today many churches have no power or authority because they choose not to believe in the gifts of the spirit all they know is love, joy and peace.

Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD -

The gifts of the Spirit are:
1. Wisdom
2. Understanding
3. Counsel
4. Fortitude
5. Knowledge
6. Piety
7. Fear of the Lord

These gifts are available to everyone who asks and believes. Remember Jesus said, "Ask and you shall receive."

Every Christian can operate in them I Cr 12 and I Cr 14 teach a lot about them.
The following ministries also have good teaching materials on the operation of the gifts. They offer plain, simple to read interesting books and tapes.
Fred Price. Ever Increasing Faith Ministries.
Kenneth E. Hagin. Kenneth Hagin Ministries.
Norvel Hayes. And probably a lot others but these are the ones I'm most familiar with. Tried and True.

1 Corinthians 8: Love never fails. But whether there are [gifts of] prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9 For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially; 10 but when that which is complete arrives, that which is partial will be done away with.

The gifts of the spirit where given by God to the early Christians because they are preaching to other countries than their own, how would they speak their language? Through the gift of tongue...the gifts of the spirit where there to help.

in our times, the bible is complete, most people speak english and so there is no need for preachers to speak in tongues, otherwise, he wont be understood.

To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

Yes i believe in the gifts of the Spirit and yes you can get all of them, some only get one, some two and so on. Are they all available to all? Yes. Provided you are born again.
