In my opinion, if you don't want to be the person you're with enough to cheat on them then why not finish the relationship? Do you agree that cheating is pointless or do you think there can be good reasons for it?

I've never personally been cheated on, I'm not talking from personal experience. I just know that if I got cheated on, I'd finish with the person.

OK. I can totally see you point, and to an extent agree with you. But, there are many reason people cheat, it doesn't make it right, but never the less it still happens.
A couple of my friends, and friends of friends, both male and female, have cheated on their partners. Some completely guilt free, and some it has torn them up, told their partners and finished it, or made a go of it.
I do understand how a person can cheat and be completely guilt free. For example, You have be with your partner a long time, have a house, children, the works. You love each other dearly, I mean really love each other, not just plodding along in a mundane routine. But the physical side, just isn't there. Some people are much more physical than others. They go off else where to get their physical needs met. And it is just that, just sex, nothing more.
Some people just plod along in a relationship not unhappy, but not over the moon with joy either, and cheat, just to get something they are not getting at home.
It doesn't mean it's right, but I can see the reason it happens.

There are reasons for cheating and that is that the person is too afraid to tell their significant other there is a problem or that they don't love them anymore. Guys and girls who cheat both not only have a low tolerance (I mean break up first then cheat its not like breaking up can take months). Some say it is a spur of the moment thing but in all honestly, unless you are unconcious, you have to know who you are with (or at least know that they aren't your bf or gf) and at that point, if you cheat, you have made the decision that the relationship and your partner don't mean anything to you.
Some people when they cheat say they regret doing it and that they are sorry and didn't mean to but that is complete BS. When they say they didn't mean to that is a lie because if they didn't they would not have done it (they have low control and thats why they did it). And if they say they regret it, they mean that because they regret getting caught.

Really there is no point and I do agree with you end the relationship dont prolong something if your not interested in a relationship with the person. Plus most people that cheat do it to see if they can get away with it and for how long really. Its really pointless

I agree. i have been cheated on, and it changes how i see the person. I look at them and see an asshole, and i end the relationship. I honestly don't know why people cheat. I guess it might be for a thrill. Like sex in public, you hope you don't get caught, but the thought that you might turns you on more? I don't know, i hate cheaters. My boyfriend understands that i do not forgive cheaters.

Well my current partner Lew was married before he met me and his wife cheated on him around the time his daughter was conceived and two times after his daughter was born, her excuses was that she loved Lewis but she was not in love with him, I think cheating is wrong i have never done it but it can mess up peoples lives because he don't know if his daughter is his daughter but Lewis will not go for DNA test because he Rather no she got a dad than not have one at all. Cheating is point less!

Its a waste, you only cheat cause you are tempted or you are alot of other things, but the point is if your gonna cheat STAY SINGLE! People shouldn't do it when they are in relationships its not fair

I agree 100% with you, if you wanted to be with someone and loved them you wouldn't want to cheat and if you do consider cheating then you dont love that person as much as you think you do.

Women have been kind enough to cheat on me,but not kind enough to explain their reasons why.
In court the judge seemed to understand and told them,they can not abuse me and my home for a safe haven,and go sleeping with others.

there is no reason for it at all and i think it is disgusting if you are cheating the 1 you are not happy with that person or you are just not ready to settle down
