I agree with the previous answerer. This doesn't sound like "Night Terrors" to me.

I am providing a link that describes the clinical symptoms of real "Night Terrors", which involve things like racing heartrate, screaming, inconsolability, and "forgetting" the entire episode in the light of day.

Recurring nightmares are different, and may be due to an unresolved emotional or physical trauma.

Talk to a doctor about getting psychological counselling for the child. If money is an issue, there are school counsellors, county health clinics, and church organizations that may help.

What exactly is your daughter dreaming about? This does not sound like night terrors to me. With night terrors she would be very alert and afraid when she woke up. Her temp would most likely be up and her heart beat would be racing. You need to find out what she can remember from her dreams. This may have a huge impact on what is going on. Perhaps someone has abused her in some way. She may not necessarily remember the abuse and her mind is trying very hard to tell with it while she sleeps. If you would like to talk more then email me liz_beam_85@yahoo.com. I hope your daughter will be alright.
