2 weeks ago my dad had a biopsy for his kidneys, it was supposed to be for one day and released the next day, well he had internal bleeding for 3 days, lost 3 pints of blood through his urine and needed blood transfusions, they released him a few days later, once he was released he couldn't walk, feed himself, do anything, he was helpless when they let him go, a week later he died, last week, i'm in so much pain, my dad had time left in this life and they shortened it, i'm so hurt i feel so cheated, is the hospital responsible at all for this? By the way those b*stards stole his cell phone and cash...... horrible hospital.

We went through the same thing with my Dad, except he didn't die, he is still with us but not the same as before. He went in Valentines day "04" because he had bloody stools, after 5 days in hospital and 3 blood transfusions they sent him home. He was told if he started bleeding again to return, he wasn't home 24 hours when the bleeding started again so back to the hospital we went. They said he had diverticulitis (holes in his large intestine) so they removed the intestine and after 6 days sent him home. The health nurse showed up the next day with a pump to help with the incision drainage and when she flipped the switch to turn the pump on he hit the floor, the pump pulled his surgical site apart throwing his waste into his entire system, he went into systemic shock. He had another surgery where he was placed on life support and they put a eleostomy bag on him. We almost lost him then. We did some checking and found out they knew this would happen and never told any one, he should never have been released from the hospital after the intestine was removed, and the life threatening situation he was in when his system went into shock they inserted his IV in wrong and he has no use of his left hand today. He is just a shell of his former self, his weight went from 310 to 188 from February to April, when he has the strength to walk around he is in a bent position. Prior to all this, he was an active 69 year old man, hunting, gardening and loved to travel in the motor home since his retirement. He now sits in his recliner. Even his thought process has slowed way down. For Christmas we bought him an Nintendo DXL Lite Brain Age Game package. We are trying everything to get him to come back. We to blame the hospital and staff for what they did to our Dad. The only reason we have not done anything about their negligence is because after the fact they were so kind and helpful with Dad we didn't have the heart.

I'm so sorry for your pain and your loss. If you are in America, the hospital must give you all his medical records. Hopefully you know someone in the medical field who will review these records for/with you. Then make a more informed decision.

I believe that God will heal us if we have faith. But you must also realize that God has provided man with knowledge. That knowledge has provided us with medical treatments. Maybe it was God who inspired a way for someone to be treated or cured by of a certain disease, and that treatment was an answer to the prayer or faith of an individual. We must have faith in God but also know that prayers are answered in different ways.
