Also - some cats are just naturally more talkative, but you can encourage quiet behavior and discourage the talking by ignoring your cat when he makes noise, and paying attention to him & petting him when he is quiet. It's actually kind of tough to do - you have to remind yourself to pay attention to him when you DON'T hear him meowing. And start paying close attention to when you pet him, so you don't unconsciously reach down to give him a pet if he meows for your attention. Over time, he'll make the connection and start seeking your attention by coming near you & looking at you quietly.

First you need to think back and remember if he was like this prior to baby. If so, than some cats are more nocturnal and you will have to switch days and nights and use as someone stated above..play, food, etc. to tire out before bed. If not, then he is a bit jealous and perhaps since that is the time you are not with the baby and not busy he is seeking your attention. You can lock him out (outside house or door) or you can try to spend a few extra minutes with him during day and tire him at night or get him a playmate so his time is divided. Cats truly are NOT loners.

As far as baby, my cat always slept at the foot in her crib (kept tick free, flee free and brushed of course). They don't steal their breath, however, they do like the milk so make sure to not leave a bottle in the crib. My cat used to yowl to tell me when she woke up and was stirring in her crib...she was like a baby sitter for me.

Hope things work out for you and yours.

My cat likes to wake me up early in the morning to cuddle. He does this by meowing loudly in the hall and then coming in and walking up my body, then staring in my face until I wake up. When I do, he meows at me until I give him attention. If I try to shut the door, he just meows loudly, so that might not work for you. You could try getting your cat as soon as he meows and give him a little attention. I know this is not ideal, but it could prevent your baby waking up.
As far as your baby, I would make sure you shut your baby's door. There are 2 major risks even if your cat is gentle. The baby could choke on the cat's hair, for one. The other is that a cat is attracted to body heat, so he could decide to sleep on the baby's head or chest. This can potentially harm or kill the child. You should never leave your baby and cat alone together.... just in case. You don't want to take any chances.
Good luck!

The best way to get an animal to settle down at night so you can sleep is to put them on some kind of schedule.

A cat is nochturnal and it's in their nature to be awake and prowling at night. I advise against putting the cat outside because they tend to wander off or get hit by cars. :(

About 1-2 hours before bedtime exhaust the cat with attention and play time and give it some food. If you normally leave food out, learn to withhold it. A full tummy can help him sleep.

Your cat may require more attention than you are able to give, so be aware of how much time and attention you spend with the animal showing affection, talking, and having play time. A cat as active as yours sounds at night is trying to tell you something. ;)

My cats are like that, so what I do is at night, an hour before I go to sleep, I usually play with the cats for a few minutes, get them running around, jumping etc. Then I give them catnip to get them to mellow out a little.

cats are nocturnal so they are usually awake at night and asleep during the day.

Maybe try to keep them awake during the day more, play music, dance around with the cats etc.

Shut your bedroom door. The cat just tries to get attention. and keep him active before you go to bed.

Two options:
1. Cry back. It will piss him of and he'll be quite.
2. Get another cat he can chat with.
PLEASE! Don't harm him just to make him shut up!

Well for a start close the bedroom door so he cant get in your room!! Allowing to get in your baby's crib is very unhygenic never mind dangerous
