What is wrong with RSPCA dogs and puppies?
At least if you rehome one from there you will be saving a life and giving the dog a second chance.
Rescue dogs are more likely to love you more because they haven't had much kindness in their lives so they will appreciate it. Plus the adoption costs wont be as high as buying from a breeder.
Why not try Dogs Trust? They neuter and microchip all their dogs, saving you money. And there are plenty of dogs to choose from, all different sizes and breeds, you could find yourself suprised.
Am sure if you give it a try you will walk away smiling, having found a new companion and knowing you've done something good.

Your options are:

1) Rescue.

2) Up the price you are willing to pay.

3) Steal one and risk a criminal record.

Frankly, if you're not prepared to pay the going rate for a puppy, and you won't rescue, your only chance is to get one from a backyard breeder or puppy mill. Apart from supporting an incredibly cruel industry, (do you want that on your conscience?) you'd be left with a dog that has not been tested for health (massive vet bills) or temperament. You MIGHT be lucky, but do you really want to take that risk?

Even as a pet, I wouldn't trust any breeders that advertise in shop windows or newspapers.

Buying crap from unscrupulous breeders is a false economy. Either save up and get a dog from a reputable breeder, go to rescue or go without.
