Jesus said in Matthew 24:5-7
5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Only God can give man true peace in his heart right now. And only God will give man true peace when he returns to set up his eternal kingdom on this earth.

have you read Revelations?
Pretty much the gist of it is...Christ's second coming will come before this earth goes through a baptism of fire somewhat similar to how it was baptized with water thousands of years ago with Noah..those who are worthy will be saved.
God promised that there would be no more floods that compare with that of Noah's time...he said nothing about fire....the earth was for better or worse...baptized when Noah's flood came...and now it is getting ready to be baptized by fire prior to the MESSIAH's second coming....

Wait - the Antichrist will bring a false world peace by wiping out all those who oppose him. Then you will have one world government, one world "religion" and one world currency - peace is unfortunately short lived until Christ brings in His 1,000 years of peace.

The end of all wars is exactly what the Bible teaches us. In the book of Genesis, Adam consumed fruit from the tree that god forbade. Adam had the whole of Eden as his own, and was asked by god to leave only this one thing alone, as a symbol of his godly authority.
Satan lied to Eve, and she ate the fruit, and then encouraged Adam to do the same. In this one act Gods heavenly authority was called into question, and in this one act man became inperfect and was born into Sin and thus through sin death.
Romans 5:11-13 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—
Because humanity questioned his aithority god has allowed us to be masters of our own destiny for a period of time. Whilst we are within this period of time we have fought countless wars and have very nearly bought the earth to ruin, because of our lack of ability to live in harmony.
The Bible teaches that God has provided us with his word, the bible to guide us, His son and our saviour Jesus Christ , who died for the eternal forgiveness of all sins, and his church and the gift of baptism to guide us through these times. He does this freely and out of love for his children
Under Gods own law given to moses, the scarifice of one perfect life (Adam) required that another perfect life be given to atone for his sin.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
So even after we questioned his authority, god freely gave his son for us. Now all of those who turn to Christ can be saved.
The Bible prophesies the present times:
Matthew 24:6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
The bible also prophesies Gods war to end all wars in the book of Revalation.
In short
God has given us the time to prove by our own free will that we can survive without him, but we have failed terribly.
At some point Jesus will return establish the Kingdom of the heavens and end all wars. But until this time, it is likely that the present destruction will continue.
