the doc said it was "reactive armpit" she biopsied it but doesnt think the node is malignant. But now she wants a mammogram and ultrasound of the breast on that side. What do you think cause it the swollen lymph node?thanks

The biopsy should tell you what you want to know. I was worried that your doc. would rely on blood tests alone. Could be anything making the lymph node swell. But, it sounds like your doc. is doing the right tests.

Well i believe that any infection can cause the lymph nodes to enlarge like that (things like having a cold, etc). However, most times they go back down on their own. When they don't thats when they check them to be on the safe side. Anyway, sounds like its all good for you which is great! Well done for going to the doctors in the first place - lots of people leave it. I've got one in my neck that i never got checked out - but seeing that i have had it for about 15 years i'm not worried anymore!

I had this in the Air Force and they found it out in basic..it turned out to be a cyst and the doctor followed up with a lot of test..like yours but it turned out to be ok...he is just covering all the bases and you should be glad he is being proactive in your case.
Many things cause swollen lymph...infected cyst caused mine...probably will show up on your test..you did the right thing

I hope it is nothing serious and all turns out well. Maybe your doctor is being cautious because generally the first sign of breast cancer is a tumor in the armpit on that side.

Your doctor has suggested mammogram which is very important.Just wait and pray for better result.
