My best friend and i used to hang out all the time back in the day. I started seeing some one else and moved away 300 miles away.during that time we lost contact for 5 years. During that time she was in a bad accident and now in a wheelchair which dosent bother me at the least. Anyway I got out of my disaster relationship and started looking for my old friend. I finally found her after about a month and now we talk everyday. I dont know if i could ever talk her into coming to live with me. But there is no good jobs where she lives or i would go in a heartbeat. I send her cards and little packages with just stuff that is kinda silly but it makes her laugh and i love that! We tell each other when we get off the phone that I LOVE YOU AND I LOVE YOU TO. I just cant tell her that i really love her more than life its self. I dont want to take the chance of messing up our relationship that we have now because it is very good. I love her with all my heart.

This something that needs to be said "face to face".
A best friend knows you love them.
Being IN LOVE is another thing.
I know from first hand experience, mine told me while I was in a relationship and I felt betrayed by my friend for lieing to me for so long. That wound never really healed and I lost a friend.
From my sad experience, I have learned what would have made the difference.
TIMING#1 both are single and Ready to take a chance on LOVE.
APPROACH#2 Don't rush it and shout it out. Talk calmly and with a written script, just ask them to listen to a realization that you had.a need to talk to my best friend. Tell a sappy love story, with a sprinkling of hints and at the end say it is you. Give her a small gift like a music box, with a handwritten note. I love my bestfriend, what an incredible thing is that! Love you name Or a custom made CD with all the songs "she" would like that Remind YOU of her. [my hubby did that- love it]
MAKE A PLAN #3 Forever starts now- make plans for her to come to you, redo your house, put up ramps, or move to an apartment that is wheelchair friendly, look in the paper or have an idea for a job or education for her there, and make real plans.
If you can't get work there or near there- she will understand and come to you. That is a compromise. Have her help with color choices and design. Like ask her her favorite color and since you will be sharing a space a 2-bedroom would be good, that way you each have a room to have some quiet "away space". One room can have her stuff and another yours.
Now- on the downside- if she is not open to love you.
Its not about you. Its that she has some issues to work out.
Ask her that! Tell her you still love her and want the very best for her and you feel strongly "that the best" is you, based on our current relationship. TELL her the facts. Be logical and not sappy in love.

That's very sweet of you. And yours sounds like a real love. So, Go ahead and TELL her how you feel about her. But it doesn't mean that she would necessarily go with you. many things could cross her mind - including that you feel sorry for her now that she is in a wheelchair. You will have to find a good strategy to break the news to her in such a way that she would feel that you love her for who she is and not what she is now. It seems that you still enjoy her trust. Maybe you should visit her and talk to her face to face. Experience has taught me that for women sight and physical presence is better under circumstances like yours.
By the way, this is a sign that we must never abandon people we love even when we get into other loves.

When you are friends with someone of the opposite sex sometimes relationships tend to change over the years. And I'm sure she can understand that. I have a unique idea. Print off this entire page once most have answered. Leave it at her doorstep, or mail it to her anomonously. She'll get the point, and it will be touching for her to see that you care so much as to ask for the very best answer you could get.
