It sounds like it may be broken but you can try the following things:

1. Close everything on the computer except for the disk-burning application.

2. Try a different brand of blank DVD disk.

3. Delete your disk-burning software and reload it.

4. Go to Emprex's Web site and look for new/updated drivers for your drive. Download and install them.

If none of this works, your drive may be broken.
