Is the "Jelly" just like "Jam"- from England?

Jelly is very similiar to jam. Jam is usually more chunky and has pieces of fruit in it, and jelly is usually pretty smooth and clear. Peanut butter is good with grape jelly, strawberry jelly or jam, or apple jelly. It's probably good with others too, but I haven't tried any others.

Jelly is make from just the juice and Jam is made from the fruit. They are both used as a bread spread.

Jelly is shiny and lacks particles of fruit. It is also difficult to spread.

Jam has particles of fruit mixed in. Depending on the brand, some may have large chunks while others may have small chunks. Jam is extremely easy to spread and tends to be the best to use when making PB&J sandwiches.

No! Jam is made with the fruit and the juice, where jelly is made with just the juice from the fruit! Jelly contains no actual fruit!

Jelly has alot more sugar than Jam does....Jam also spreads alot easier because it doesnt have gelatin in it- therefore it is more natural than Jelly. Both very similar in taste though!

From my understanding, jam has bits of real fruit pieces in it, and jelly does not.

Jam-easy to spread, no clumping

Jelly-more globular and less easy to spread

Preserves-chunky and full of fruit, but doesn't spread as easily as jam

Marmalade-nasty, or at least what I remember from being about 6 years old-haven't touched it since.

I prefer jam or preserves-strawberry or cherry are great!

Sure, I guess you could use jam, although jelly is slightly thinner, I'm sure it would still work.
