i want to throw a mardi gras party but im moving into a new house so i need sometime to fix up the house so... when does mardi gras start and when does it end?

well it ends on Shrove Tuesday, the Tuesday before Easter. Start any day before that.

Mardi Gras is translated into Fat Tuesday, in which we eat alot of good tasting things, most often pancakes. It is one day, Tuesday. It does not last several days because the next day is Ash Wednesday, the begining of the Lent season. Ash Wednesday is also one day, Wednesday. Mardi Gras was yesterday, Febuary 05. So, seing as Mardi Gras is one day, it also ended yesterday.
