Be sincere - no point in being all romantic if you're not usually. Take her somewhere lovely (whether it's out for a walk or a meal or a hotel somewhere) and go down on one knee and do it! Needs to be done face to face and just to two of you. I would be so embarrassed if I was proposed to in front of a group... If she's an old fashioned kind of girl you should ask her Dad first. I wouldn't worry about having a ring in advance, she might like to pick it herself but you could have some lovely roses or flowers ready for her. Good luck - I hope she says yes.

Hiya, my boyfriend proposed to me by exchanging a chocolate in my advent calendar with a ring! And he wrote 'will you marry me on the foil'. However, Christmas is miles away...so it depends when you want to propose?! If on Valentines Day perhaps get a heart shaped Millies Cookie made with 'will you marry me?' on it, so when she opens the box she gets a surprise! or get the magic words put on a Thorton's easter egg and put the ring inside?!

Day before Valentines?
Leave work early, go into her room, tidy and clean it, make it mega romantic (candles, rose petals, her favourite tune etc) Make sure her parents fob her off upstairs when she gets home - ask them to say something like, 'oh something arrived for you today, I put it on your bed' - when she opens the door, there you'll be on one knee producing a beautiful diamond ring!
I often hope my boyfriend does something like that!!
Or if you live together, do the same thing except leave a beer out in the living room, the tv on, making it look like you're in the bathroom and about to watch a programme or something. Except, you're in the bedroom with a sparkler! :)

I would either do the traditional down on one knee or have a glass of bubbly on the night and put the ring at the bottom of it.
Either way don't forget to ask her dad for her hand in marriage!
Good luck.

I've imagined taken her to a Concert, that you both like. Management likes to be able to offer someone, a moment like this. Ask if you can ask her, while On-Stage. Or meet the Artists or Band, Back Stage. Just think of it! Good Luck!

If you can - ask her the day BEFORE valentines day - she really wont be expecting that!!!! Tell her you were so desperate to ask her you couldn't wait any longer.
If you haven't got a ring - take her shopping just after asking her at dinner, then she gets dinner, shopping, some sparkly - man will you make her day!
good luck - let us know how it goes.

On a Hot Air Balloon. It's nice, scenic, expensive and if she says no she might "accidentally" fall out of the basket!
Just kidding
