One word for you......RINGWORM

don't freak out. It is very treatable. Take him to the vet and they can help you treat it and tell you how to keep it from spreading.

Until you get her in, wash your hands well and keep her away from other cats and kids. I would keep her in a kennel while she is being treated. This will help keep it from spreading. I had to keep my kitten in a kennel for 2 months while being treated. None of my other cats got it. Neither did we.

*** ringworm is contagious. But there are measures you can take to lessen the risk. Keep her in a kennel all the time until her hair starts to grow back. Wash your hands every time you handle her, feed her, clean her litter box, etc. While confined, you can still spend quality time with her. You can still hold her, just wash your hands afterwards. Make sure she has toys to play with and a clean kennel at all times.
After she is treated, bleach her bowl, litter pan and kennel before exposing other animals to them. I would throw her toys away. Ringworm is also very treatable for humans. So check over your child everyday for evidence.
Educate yourself on the subject, and your kitten should do just fine.

If it is ringworm, it is contagious but dont panic..it's not a big deal. Ringworm is not really a worm anyway and you will know you have it by a scaly looking red ring on the skin. If you do get it, just ask your doctor to suggest what to get. There are over the counter creams that get rid of it.

Petsmart in the beginning gets the cats and canines they positioned up for adoption out of your interior of reach Humane Society. so as that explains the "skinny" section as i will practically assure you that Petsmart could in no way abuse their animals. There could be some issues inflicting the concern that your cat has, and calling a vet and asking their opinion does not harm simply by fact they provide you some issues to look out for till they sense that it is pressing so which you will deliver her in. they are going to say so in the event that they do. What "might desire to" be the concern is rigidity. moving an animal from place to place from the final abode to the humane society to the petsmart and then to your place might desire to reason rigidity for the animal. Cats are finicky specifically circumstances and that would desire to be the concern. yet another concern could be that the nutrition you're giving her is distinctive then the nutrition that they fed her at petsmart. some cats can get an disenchanted abdomen somewhat and little issues like ameliorations in nutrition can ok reason that. as a good distance simply by fact the crying is going, you are able to unquestionably in no way somewhat tell. some cats are only criers, and different cats do it if there's a concern, yet different cats do it for interest, and specifically circumstances they do it for nutrition. you will probable not be able to tell only by this what is going on alongside with your cat considering which you have not had her long adequate to be attentive to her kinds and what form of crier she is. the actuality that she's alert, playful, affectionate, and seems to be like all around ok may lead me to have self assurance that the concern probable isn't an pressing one, yet be careful, visual show unit her, and get on the telephone alongside with your vet and see what they advise so which you will do.

First of all, I would ask where you got your kitten from. If it was a no-kill shelter, she may have a ringworm. I got two from there one time and one had one, gave it to the other one and then gave it to my 10 year old daughter. If it is a ringworm, they will give her med's & special shampoo to bath her in. Good Luck!

Sounds like ringworm. Take her to the vet ASAP. She needs medicine and if it is ringworm, it is contagious to humans.

Hi I have a cat myself and when she was about 2 months old she had a similar condition. I brought her to the vet and he said that it was ticks. If your cat have little red lumps around the bald patches, that's whats wrong!!
