1. Ideally it sounds good, but you have so many people fighting about what they THINK the real issues are and refuse to see the real problem (or else they just don't care ). Also with all things that do start out with good intentions end up eventually getting corrupted themselves.
Somebody does need to do a good coverage. The media does a fluff Katie Couric type job. They would rather ask a Democrat what their favorite flavor of ice cream is than to ask them why they got away with stuffing top secret papers into their pants.
With social issues, many times 'do good' organizations try and fix problems and they end up only creating more problems. I believe we do need a third party, combined with people that will expose the truth, to step in but it doesn't seem like enough people have woke up to the propaganda of the media and can only think in terms of conservative or liberal.
! would like to see more of the democrats responses posted since they are not carried by the media. People say the republicans are bad with taxation, but have they heard the things Hillary and others want to do financially to this country if Hillary becomes our next President
We do need a third party that enough people would support and would cut through all the mess and really take care of the issues ideally
My conclusion:
No wonder people have gotten to a 'vote for the lesser of two evil'
attitude with the choices we do have
I have been wanting to do a a third party type website on lies by politicians, but need some good sites for reference.

I would not support it. This is the job of the press and of many groups that are already out there. The information is already there people are just too lazy to sift through it and attempt to make some sense of it. Instead, the majority of Americans receive their information regarding, and form opinions about, candidates based on television ads. Your proposal assumes that a completely neutral forum could be developed and I do not believe that is possible. Any question necessarily has some bias unless it is completely open ended. An open ended question would allow a candidate to form his or her answer in any way he or she liked. Thus, the information would not be helpful.

The key to this being what was the method used in ranking the political issues. My many years in statistics know that this can be manipulated very easily. But what you have listed is just standard practice used in business every day.

I think it's a wonderful tool of democracy. Sounds like the Gallup Poll. I don't feel threatened by opposing views, I only get worried when we stop having differing views. Competition and debate is a good thing.
