Hitler was influenced by Martin Luther, not "Catholic anti-semitism."

Pastor Billy says: Brendan you need to rephrase your question. Many anti-Catholic love to imply Hitler was a practising Catholic based on an assertion of him being baptised. I've never had this proven to me but assuming it to be true doesn't provide Catholic influence in his anti-Semitic formation in-fact base on his "final decision" the exact opposition is proven.

just for the record before Auschwitz became known for being a Jewish concentration camp it was a Catholic one! Over 5 million Catholics were killed at the hands of the Nazis. "a house divided falls" hope you still don't assume Hitler held his anti-Semitic views because of Catholicism as he was an equal opportunity racist.

As others have clearly explained it was his non-Catholic views which influenced his decisions

If you read any of Hitlers papers, such as his manifesto, you will find that his use of religion and the anti-semitism feeling was just a tool to ascend to power. He went for what the German people wanted to hear. They wanted someone to blame for their problems and they were an easy target. If he had thought the way to power was to claim that Allah was calling him he would have used it too. There has been many wars fought over religion but if you look deeper you will find that greed and power were the real underlying cause.

It weird because I just got finished looking at some Holocaust pics before I came here. I would guess that Anti-Semitism influenced a hell of a lot because he killed so many ***** people. It's disgusting and unreal what he did to those poor people.

It wasn't just Catholic.
There is a book titled "The Christian Roots of Anti-Semitism."
written by a Catholic man named Hays. I wish I could get you that book. There's more than I can write here.
If you can find it, by all means, get it.

It didn't at all. Hitler didn't like the Catholic Church any more than he liked Jewish people. Historical archives prove it.

In elections in the early 30s, it's a historical fact that Catholic sections of Germany overwhelmingly voted against the Nazis. Go look it up if you don't believe me.

hard to tell how an irrational mind works or what made it tick.....Hitler did not like Christianity ... he was influenced by the occult and probably as much or more affected by the philosophies of Neitche and Marx to be convenient (who were ironically Jewish I think)

It probably contributed a little bit. But Hitler was a mad man.
