I hate when artsists but actual bandages on tattoos. It creeps me out.
I'd take it off pretty much right now. Make sure to wet down the bandage before you take it off. Chances are your blood is dried and will cause the bandage to stick to your tattoo. Pulling it off could cause ink to pull out of your skin.
It doesn't hurt to get it wet. You have to clean your tattoo anyway.
Its okay to touch the area if your hands are clean.
Everyones so cautious with there tattoos. After my 4th one I just started getting less frantic. You just have to get a feel for how your skin heals and reaacts.
For instance I only use A&D for 12 hours and switch to lotion right away.
My artist recommends not using A&D and letting your skin peel right away (He gives specific instructions but all his tattoos turn out bright and amazing).

One to three hours. I have a very bad habit of taking it off as soon as I leave the shop though. I promise to stop doing this, maybe. But at least an hour no more than three, and never, ever , cover it back up once you remove it. You need to get it wet 2 - 3 times a day when you wash it with mild soap. You should not swim while it is healing though. It will take about 2 or 2 and a half weeks or so to heal completely.

my artist suggests keeping on the bandage for atleast two hours but i usually get my tattoos at night and so i just leave it on til morning and wash it first thing when i wake up.
once you remove the bandage you should wash it with antibacterial soap and your fingertips until it isn't slimey anymore. then you should pat it dry and after 10 minutes put whatever lotion or ointment your artist told you to put on.
also it depends how long it will take to heal. between 2 and 3 weeks. you'll know it's healed when the skin is back to a normal texture and isn't itchy or shiney.

everyone is different in their healing process, i took 3-4 weeks to heal i have my whole back done, and i left the bandage on for 2 days according to the intstructions from my tattoo artist.
Please do not wet the area too soon i would wait until you take the bandage off, but you can cream it in with a lotion like Keri or Benydryl

I just got my newest tattoo last week and I was told to leave the bandage on for about an hour, take it off and wash it gently with mild soap and water, and then keep it moist with vaseline 3-4 times daily for about a week. This has worked well with all the rest of my tattoos as well.

You should leave plastic wrap or bandage on for 30 minutes to 2 hours. After removing, you should keep the area moist with a tattoo balm.Chapstick or Carmex will also work.It will take around 2 weeks to heal and you should NEVER pick the scabs that may form. The day after you get your tat you can shower but not rub the area.Use gentle soap to cleanse.

2 hours or so. IT will take about 2 weeks to completly heal depending on how you heal. No do not get it wet if possible and do not touch it. It will itch for about a week.
