If the drug was properly subscribed to you, then you have nothing to worry about.
Depending on your metabolism, it could be out of your system within a week, but Niacin, which can be found at any head shop, for detox, will help clear out all toxins...Hope this helps.
Next time, keep prescription bottles for up to six months after you quit taking the drug.
Also, tell the person administering the test that you were prescribed the medicine, and they rarely ask too many questions.

There is no need to worry if you were given a prescription medication. Just tell them before the drug test and bring your bottle with you or a note from the Dentist and it won't be held against you. Also, I think that vicoden only stays in your system for 48-72 hours. You can check on that by googling it.

I failed a routine drug test because I take Rx narcotics on a regular basis for chronic pain. The office doing the testing simply called the pharmacy and confirmed that I am in fact prescribed that medication. With proof you should have no problems.

There is no problem with hydrocodone showing up in a drug test if you have a valid prescription for it.

As long as you are honest and straightforward about the narcotic being in your system for medical purposes, you will not lose your job.

I agree, you just need your dentist to write you a letter stating what meds he gave you.
