No update! No money, but some good lies! They told me the reason for the hold was because I claimed EIC, Head of Household, and my kids last names were different than mine! Just about like all the other divorced people in the US. I have never had a problem with returns and my name has always been different from theirs-13 years. HOW MUCH TIME & MONEY IS IT GONNA COST TO REVIEW 72,000 REFUNDS?? JUST GIVE US OUR MONEY!

This has been an ongoing process. I filed 1/17, accepted. Anticipated refund 1/26. Didn't get it. Told it was just "sitting there" by the IRS. Then on 2/9 nothing. When looking on the IRS site, it also gave me reference code 1121. I then called the IRS. They explained some computer glitch and the last minute congress deal of passing a bill of some sort. They told me it would be another 2 - 4 weeks. Maybe 2/9 or 2/16. Hope I helped!

I was told the same thing, still haven't recvded mine, still have the code 1121.
Did you claim any education, local/state, or educator deductions are credits? If so, thats why your return is delayed. I was informed that they wouldn't be processed until after 2/3, and it will recvd it on or around 2/16

I filed my taxes electronically on one of the commercial websites in early February. My state tax was direct deposited into my bank account in 3 days; my Federal in 8.

Appears that IRS suffered a computer glitch in processing returns during a certain period which includes yours, unfortunately.
Hopefully the mess has been straightened out and you'll be getting your refund soon. Good luck.

Last year, I e-filed my returns at H & R Block. I authorized direct deposit. It still took four weeks. There was no one to call at the IRS who could or would do anything about it. Learn to live with it.

It usually says that your refund will be sent out on XXX date unless they find something that delays it. From what you have said, it sounds like they have seen something that they want to double check.
