In the lyrics of "Rhythm of the Rain" of the Cascade, there is a part "whay is it she don’t care ." I think it is a gramatical mistake. Why isn't it "she doesn't care"?

Thank you

Properly speaking, you are right. But alot of people in the U.S. talk in slang and incorrectly. Is this a country song? Alot of those "hicks" or uneducated white people like to talk like that.

What language do you speak?

Whilst not grammatically correct, a lot of people do talk this way. Also, it may have been the only way to get the line to fit.

You know, it's really hard to tell what you are asking because the inverted quotes are in different positions for the 2 statements.

it probably would not fit... rhythmically.... listen to a little variety of music and you will notice it quite often.... it drives me crazy at times my self.
