I'm male, twenty-four and based in the South East near Brighton.
I seem to spend most of my time working, the media and advertising industry is a mean task master; with little opportunities to meet members of the opposite sex out of the office!
Anyone in the same boat? Doesn't it suck being single? Suggestions to find that perfect someone? (preferably not via online dating!) - Thanks all.

No afraid not, and on the odd occasion I am not working and do get to see my friends, they are all in relationships and don't have any single friends; odds aren't in my favour on that one.
Bars and clubs have never seemed to work for me either really to be honest.

Yup. I'm single too. But so are thousands of other people. Sometimes it feels like everyone but you is in a relationship, but that's not really true. Don't let it get you down. Anyways, do you have any sisters or female cousins or friends with sisters? Ask them if they have any nice friends that they'd be interested in introducing you to. I meet a lot of guys that I date through other people that I know. It's all about networking:)
PS Well in that case, you're going to have to take a proactive approach. Take a class or join a club where you know there will be women you can meet. If you don't want to do the online dating thing and you have no way to meet girls through other people, you'll have to make an effort to get in a situation where you're around girls. (Other than bars like you said) Think of something that you're into that the opposite sex would be into too. Don't get into something that bores you because you won't meet women you have anything in common with and don't take an automotive class or something where there'd be no girls at all. I understand you're busy with work and all, but if you're serious about wanting to meet girls, you should look into that option. Maybe just one night a week or something.

Here are great tips for you in order to meeting single men or women via a date site.
Be sure of what you would like. This will let you discover which type of dating site is most beneficial for you. Figure out whether you would like to meet someone because you intend to date them or for being friends first.
If you're the type who would like to be friends first, you can sign up on Online networks which will let a person meet people as buddies. You can also try the Niche Online dating sites which would let anyone meet people of common interests.
If you want to find someone for the direct reason for dating, try Online Dating sites such as singlesdating. us all. These sites would permit you to browse through public profiles of everybody to be able to get to know these individuals without contacting them, similar to a notch above velocity dating. You can additionally try Relationship sites in which match people through compatibility checks.
Remember to play the item safe. Never put in specific specifics about yourself, especially personal info including address and contact numbers that can be viewed by everyone. Furthermore, be careful with your own pictures because they might get back to haunt you someday.

I am in the same boat. I work in marketing and I am a very busy lady am I do not have a date yet for 14th February. The feeling I have is killing me day by day. I see around me happy couples and I start to cry. I do not know what I will do, but I keep the faith that everything will be all right and I will find a nice person to stand next to me. Everyone of us will find in the end a match, I think at that and I go on and one. In order to find the perfect someone you must know very well what you want and after that it will be easier. It always works for me. I like a certain type of men and I go for it no matter what. GOOD Luck

Yes, i am 21 and i am single & it is really depressing.I have the same problem with you,i have dedicated most of my time to the University in order to study hard, but this is the price of it:being single on V's day. Your advantage is that as you are a guy it is easier for you to find a date. You can invite some girl you like a little bit and try to know her better, perhaps you discover she is interessting.Good luck, because i know how you feel!

I'm with you Partner. But I'm on the other side of The Pond. I'm in Atlata Georgia. U.S. of A. I'm much older than you. But I am Single. But I've noticed that how so many of the "involved" ones aren't as happy as we would wnna be. Think positive. Maybe it's better not to have the attitutudes and expectations, that the others do. We have a saying, in these parts. When we wish someone well? We say, "Git-R-Done!"
