That's the bible for you. For every statement that comes from the bible, there is another that contradicts it.

No, it does not make me believe that God looked like Jesus.

God is spirit only.
The Son of God was spirit only until He took on a body in the form of Jesus.
He could take on a body that looked anyway God wanted it to look.

No, it is not a sin to attribute human qualities to God, but we should not anthropomorphize God.

Well, i never actually seen Jesus myself, so i don't have a frame of reference. I know there are plenty of paintings of Jesus, but it is reasonable to assume that his image has changed somewhat over the past 2000 years.
Anyway,k even given the paintings, i wouldn't say that it is a sin. After all, it does say that he created us in his own image, which means that he made us to look like him.
So i guess you could say (and I'm not trying to be offence) that god attributed god's physical qualities to humans.

If we somehow needed to communicate with a pet, and had the Almighty's abilities, we would become like the pet so we could communicate. Similarly Almighty YHVH is greatly above us, but sent His son YAHOSHUA into human form so He could communicate with us. He was Almighty, but at that point He became man, so He could communicate somewhat better with us. So NO! The Almighty in essence is greatly different from mankind. Man WAS made "in the image of" the Almighty (Gen 1:26). Many people have spent many thousands of hours trying to figure out what that means, and have come up with quite a number of "interpretations".

It says in Genisis that god created Adam in his own image. Why would it be a sin to assume God looks like us? You see the face of God in everyone around you, and God is everything. Thus, God looks dfifferently to everyone. And God has many human qualities, except for demeaning or bad ones. She/He is perfect, with perfect human good qualities.

Jesus was God in human form. What he looked like on Earth was just his skin, not his spirit as he is in Heaven.

none can look at god but those as christ
if god were here now you would look at his very bright light
immagine all the light of all the atom bombs right here right now
thats what god looks like
melt your eyeballs bright light
brighter than all the suns who but rflect the light of god
the light from the sun
our sun comes from god
sustains all life to live
is so pure so perfect so far above yet also contained in all life
to see me is to see the father
same as the fathers light in you
in fact inside all of us
at death layers fall off our being as we rise higher into the light till we too become suns of the father
we are not the father but reveal his light
