Hello,

Teterboro is unquestionably the destination of choice for business jet flyer's traveling to Manhattan. Unlike the other nearby airports, including White Plains, Teterboro offers no scheduled commercial airline service - it is devoted exclusively to business and general aviation.

The data about aircraft movements also support this assertion. In 2006, White Plains had total aircraft operations of 180,798 (37,882 of which were airline operations). In 2004, Teterboro had 202,320 movements (0 airline) - and it has only increased since then. In fact, Teterboro has become so busy with jet traffic that they recently instituted a voluntary ban on older, noisier aircraft in an effort to appease the surrounding community - a development that I followed closely since my company makes hushkits for the older Gulfstream jets.

Finally, there is no Gulfstream 7550 - the currently manufactured aircraft model names range from G150 to the G550 - the G550 is the largest, longest range aircraft they manufacture.

Good luck with the book.

It is very likely the character would fly into Teterboro than JFK or LaGuardia due to all the commercial flights in those airports and all the congestion. Another alternative would be White Plains, as mentioned in a previous post.

I would say that the best option and the one used the most in the area for the corporate aircraft is White Plains (HPN) - but as far as the three that you listed Teterboro (TEB) would be the best option.

I work in the industry so if you have any other questions just email me.
