hi ,i live in the uk,unfortunatley i had quite a messy seperation last year and my credit history has really suffered as i have checked,i now need either a debit or credit card and cant find anyone to give me one,i have heard about secured cards are these avaliable in the uk,or does anyone know where i may get accepted for a card

Halifax have accounts for people with bad credit and it comes with a debit card and cheque book.. No overdraft facility though. Its a pretty basic account

i got mine through capital one - ok its got a rubbish limit, i had to pay 100% up front and the interest will kill you, but paying it off without fail has enabled me to re-build my credit history.
