Hi
I posted a question a bit back about needing a little help on getting up in the morning... Not a morning person...
(See link to previous question if you need to)

...Problem is... I'm still the same and nothing seems to be working... Once I'm up and getting ready I'm fine... it's the actual getting out of bed part I still struggle with!
(and then I'm mega angry at myself as I have to rush!)
I seem to be semi-conscious or something when it comes to waking and don't get up and press snooze (lots)
... Moving the alarm doesn't help either as when I'm half asleep I just flop back onto the bed and snooze again... Oh dear!
... Any more ideas out there??
Thanks (from a woman at her wits end)
xx

I have the same problem. I think it's mainly lack of motivation. I don't have a problem getting out of bed to go on holiday, so I think it must be that I am bored out of my mind at work. Problem is I don't want to get a new job until I have the late attendance under control!
This morning I needed to get up early to wash and dry my hair and get petrol on my way to work. So I implemented strategies to combat any arguement I may give myself to stay in bed...
- I went to bed a little early.
- I wrote my tasks on a piece of paper and put it next to my alarm clock, so it would be the first thing I thought of when I woke up.
- I set my alarm half an hour early, so I could still do a bit of snoozing and get up at the required time. (Getting straight out of bed will never be an option for me. I need to ease into the day.)
- I put a jumper on the radiator to put on when I got up, to be snuggly warm whilst I began getting ready.
It worked! I'm going to try it again tomorrow. FIngers crossed.

As soon as the alarm goes off, take a drink of water, or even splash a bit on your face. Or buy one of the allarms that people who are deaf use which vibrates the pillow instead of sounding an alarm. That might help. Or simply throw your duvet off on to the floor. Then when you try to lie back down you'll be cold. Just thoguhts off the cuff there.

No self discipline lol - the only thing that gets me up in the morning is when I am absolutely bursting for a pee...Otherwise its the just a few more minutes syndrome. Try drinking a lot of water before you go to sleep - you are bound to need to dash to the loo in the morning.

I always find that unless I get up and out of bed straight away, I'm there for hours.
Being intimate with a partner sometimes helps though... I don't get out of bed any sooner but at least it wakes me up.
